
Deborah’s School of Shoemaking
The next beginner handmade shoemaking classes begin March 25 in West Asheville, two miles from downtown. Course teaches each student how to make themselves a pair of custom leather shoes from scratch. Skills include patterning, skiving, punching and broguing, dyes and dye waxes, sewing, lasting, installing a shank, soling, heel stacking and pegging.
Each class time lasts four hours and runs for ten lessons. Classes held noon-4 pm. Additional class times available.
