Deborah’s School of Shoemaking
Handmade shoemaking classes begin January 14 in West Asheville, two miles from downtown. Course teaches each student how to make themselves a pair of custom leather shoes from scratch. Skills include pattern making, skiving, punching and broguing, dyes and dye waxes, sewing, carving an insole, lasting, installing a shank, soling, heel stacking and pegging.
Each class time lasts four hours and runs for ten lessons. Classes held Saturdays noon-4 pm. Additional class times available.
