
Deborah’s School of Shoemaking
The next beginner handmade shoemaking classes begin in mid-January in West Asheville, two miles from downtown. Course teaches each student how to make themselves a pair of custom leather shoes from scratch. Skills include patterning, skiving, punching and broguing, sewing, lasting, installing a shank, soling, heel stacking and pegging.
Two sections of the beginner course are offered this winter, choose between Saturdays or Wednesdays. Each class time is held from noon to 4 pm and runs for ten lessons. Additional class times available.
